Denver has all the big city perks without the hassels with a small city feel. As someone who has lived in the South for a majority of my life, I found Denver easy to acclimate to. You can do as little or as much of the outdoor activities you like not everyone has to love skiing!
The days of sunshine definitely help! I love exploring the city's pockets of cultural diversity and history which gives you a great feel for why Denver natives want the city to be the best kept secret! The views are gorgeous and the people are friendly. I enjoy skiing, cookie decorating and baking, and am currently taking some pickleball lessons.
I love weekend morning walks with my husband Patrick, dog Franklin, and daughter Aida to local bakeries and hoping to show her more of Denver and the surrounding area post-pandemic. We rotate through three hospitals academic, county, and private and gain a wide breadth of experience as a result. Additionally, we have the unique opportunity to take part in adolescent, LGBTQ, global health experiences, and work closely with midwives and advanced practice providers. Our residents love Colorado - we appreciate the fast-paced and supportive environment in which we train and couldn't imagine doing it without the people we share this experience with.
You will make life-long bonds with your colleagues, attendings, midwives, nurses, and patients. Despite the busy hours of residency, we also take full advantage of living in Denver. From brewery hopping in the city to hiking and skiing the mountains, we never miss an opportunity to hang out with each other and our loved ones in this beautiful state.
