Some neighborhood leaders received an email on Wednesday from a city Neighborhood Pride manager telling them that Rumpke is actively hiring new drivers and to share an attached form with anyone they think may be interested.
In an email, Deb Briner, a spokeswoman for the city's public service department, said Rumpke is working to clear the backlog on some Columbus yard waste collection. Many routes are being collected on schedule, and Rumpke is working to complete any remaining routes within a day or two of that, she said. If a household's normal collection day is Monday or Tuesday, pickup will be completed by the end of the day Wednesday.
If the normal collection day is Wednesday or Thursday, pickup will occur by the end of the day Friday. For households with normal collection on Fridays, pickup will occur on Friday or Saturday. Additionally, the city's Com-Til Compost Facility will accept yard waste free of charge, year round. Many items can be donated for reuse with central Ohio organizations including Habitat for Humanity , Furniture Bank of Central Ohio and more.
