Things like ignoring employees requests for extra help at night, to removing 4 trucks out of a very busy system. I worked 24 hour shifts and spent hours of the day inside the ambulance. We had fire stations to stay in but were required to move to other areas constantly. We had employees so drained that were getting in accidents on their way home. When I started it was a really fun place to work with alot of camaraderie. But turned out to have other counties not willing to help each other out.
Pros Great pay, better than any others in area. Cons Lack of safety concern for their employees. CEO not very company minded. They always start new employees pay higher than established employees. Management is a joke and overworking their employees making CareFlite have an extremely high turnover rate.
One manager once told me "If we can keep people from going to school maybe we can keep people longer. They will tell you during orientation that you can work in the counties, but reality is the only openings they have to fill is non-emergent inter-facility transfers trucks.
CareFlite has been around since and is well known for the emergency medical system with helicopters and ambulances and fix wing. Challenging but a great place to work for. Yes No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. Somewhat flexible work hours, and the ability to relocate as needed.
Direct management is easy to talk to and listens, though getting anything changed can take some time. They see you as a body in a truck. Everyone is so overworked. You have to fight for days off and find your own coverage even if you have PTO available. The education department is nonexistent so good luck learning how to do tour job correctly. They cut education. The billing department wants you to do it their way, regardless of if it is right or not.
Upper management has handed supervisor positions to people with little to no leadership or management experience. They are very vindictive. The pay is the only reason to be here. Please save yourself the hassle and stay far away from this place. Its a sign when people are leaving quicker than they can - more Pros You'll get paid more than any other private EMS company. Headline says it all. This company thinks very highly of themselves. Ground employees are worthless slaves to this company.
You're overworked, starved, and sleep deprived because of their greedy needs. Dispatchers are clueless of their jobs. Supervisors are just a bunch of burnt out medics who dont know how to build relationships with their staff. Upper management is the worst and dont care about anything unless its money. They claim to be a nonprofit organization but once you'll work here you'll know they are full of it. Careflite is a horrible place to work. Yes There are 5 helpful reviews 5 No.
You better not have a life if youre going to work here! Careflite is good place to work if you need money, willing to work alot of hours hours per week and dont have anything else in your life to do. With that being said, that's the only good things I've found working here.
Careflite expects alot out of their employees but dont expect anything from them. They'll BEG you to pick up shifts and guilt trip you if you refuse. Management has some really awesome supervisors but there are some ones that just dont need to be working there. Like most places you have your bad managers but these guys will do anything to screw you over in their favor.
Dispatchers for the most part are nice but they tend you get you in trouble with patients and their families.
