The steak was overpriced and extremely chewy. I had massive chunks of fat with almost every bite and silver skin made it very difficult to cut the meat also.
Ambiance was serene and calm. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable about menu items. The streak was slightly undercooked, but not enough to diminish overall quality and taste of the meal. I will be going again. Great appetizers, great steaks and desserts. Only my second time there and will definately be back. Ambiance and service were very good but food was disappointing.
The menu had nice choices but everything was too salty. The pork chop tasted like ham and my son and husband shared the rib eye that was a tough cut of meat.
We had a lovely evening, celebrating our anniversary. Eric, our waiter, was excellent -- offering good suggestions, and checking in with us without being intrusive. The steaks were delicious, with peppery seasoning and done perfectly. We also loved the mashed potatoes and the roasted brussels sprouts. Don't forget to try the French onion soup--hearty, with a hint of rosemary. Roast is a memorable dining experience. Ken and Nicki were fantastic.
It was great to see them. Anniversary dinner was a huge success. Highlight of our trip. Thank you! Delicious food. Creative cocktails. Would like at least one more veggie option for a side other than just Brussels sprouts though they are very good. A little too dark for my liking. Good service. The food was fantastic. I had the lamb shank and it was tender. I tasted the ribeye and it too was tender and delicious. The sides were great and the service was good.
I would go back again. Overall was very good, the only problem I had was finding parking close to restaurant. Inviting ambiance, food was superb.. Would recommend this restaurant. It's been a minute since we have experienced such great steaks and service.
Experience was exactly what we expected for a top-notch steakhouse. Roast restaurant is on the first floor of the Westin Book Cadillac. We thoroughly enjoyed two dinners during our tours of the Detroit Institute of Art and the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, both outstanding. Food was not cooked properly but server was nice and ambiance was nice.
Entire dining experience was incredible and host knew the entire menu!!! From the drinks down to the dessert were heavenly!!! Roast is an absolutely incredible restaurant. From the moment you walk in they make you feel special. We had a drink at the bar that was delicious prior to sitting down. The wait staff was phenomenal in assisting a wine selection and providing input on drinks.
My water glass was never empty and they were very attentive. Pretty restaurant, wonderful service, and best food we have ever eaten! Unbelievable steak, and the bone marrow was incredible. Everything was great! Very good starters. Good drinks. Our waiter was very attentive. The roasted marrow was great! The food and seasoning was excellent. I will be back. Wonderful dinner with friends. There was a guy at the bar talking really loudly.
I wish Roast had more sides and bring back the zip sauce. Server disappeared at times. Had almost finished dinner when I had to ask another person to send server over.
He never came back to ask if we needed anything. Food was amazing. Waiter was attentive. Great experience! Great food and service. While in Detroit for a wedding we were lucky to find Roast on the Open Table app. In my dining experience Keith was one of the best waiters I have ever had. He was knowledgeable about all the menu items and had a wealth of knowledge about food in general. Our meals were served family style as we requested and everything we ordered, including dessert were delicious!
The rib eye was cooked to perfection. Drinks are made with fresh ingredients and our vodka gimlets were the perfect blend. The manager Joseph came by a few times and he was a delight.
Not sure how express how good our meal was except to say we came back the next night, asked for Keith and had a repeat perfect experience.
Thank you so much for two nights of deliciousness and wonderful service. Much better experience than Lola's in Cleveland. Still expect more from an place owned by an Iron Chef. I understand its Covid, but still the overall experience was just ok. Wonderful experience. Knowing Michael Symon's restaurants I expected nothing less.
